Happy Canada’s Day…

(..only 9 days LATE!…because of the ‘lack’ of internet and an extremely busy week..but still wanted to include the photos from my day!)

I got up early on Canada day to pouring rain..but that didn’t stop me from walking over to the Legislature… and lining up to get my red t-shirt and participate in Winnipeg’s Living Flag… You can read about it HERE

Here are some shots from that day…

I was part of the “LEFT RED BAR”… It was kind of like ‘herding cats’ trying to get all of us organized..but with a bit of time…the effort paid off!!! While waiting for the direction to fill into the flag… I struck up a conversation with this lady, Joyce Ayaruak and through conversation found out that she lives in Rankin Inlet–and knows a bunch of people that I know from Iqaluit and Pang… She writes a column in the newspaper as well!  (it’s such a small world–you never know when you might meet someone that knows someone that you know!)… I hope our paths cross again…

I think it would have been a lot of fun to be ‘up’ in this bucket to TAKE the photo!!!

Here was my view from the ground…. (the sun came out and was stinking HOT for the photo)… The next two photos I found online at  the Winnipeg Sun…

The first shows the view of the ‘flag’ waving people… (I was standing BEHIND that Canada Flag–in my red shirt!)

It was a really fun thing to be part of, I’m glad I braved the rain and went out to participate!!!

Later that night… I watched the fireworks from my balcony… it was a perfect night to see them!! 🙂
